Georges Chippy Reddish in Stockport

"Beautiful fish and the only chippy I will eat chips from. Friendly owner and staff, nice clean premises and generous portions of food. He does two different curry sauces and both are delicious. I drive past half a dozen chippy's to buy from Georges."

"I get a fish, chips, peas, mild curry sauce, and a scallop!! It is the nicest chippy ever I have been coming here for 20 plus years!! The curry sauce is sooooo niceee!! The Fish I have never had a whiter fluffier fish inside with the nicest battered ever, and I have had a lot of Fish over the years all over Wales, Blackpool, Liverpool, Manchester ETC.... WOW I am hungry now lol!! P.S the chips though!! I have never ever had a problem with the chips, chips are just chips you rather do rubbish ones or perfect and the chips here are perfect always piping hot, flavourful soft, also they are never small you never get a bag of chips that have rubbish little bits in every chip is nice and big. Right am going eating lol thanks George's for the best food"

"My partner was always saying this is the best chippy in stockport so yesterday I went to try it out as I was about the area... I have to be honest it is by far the best chippy in Manchester or anywhere to he honest! 100% ! To be honest iv not had anywhere better in god knows how long! The staff was lovely aswell so friendly and welcoming and the food was ...just...WOW! Cook perfectly! I just wish I didnt live so far away! And wish they delivered to wythenshawe!"

"The best chippy around been going for years seeing review from someone else and trying to slate this chippy , clearly the review was to try and reduce the in comeing traffic to this family run bussiness to maybe another local chippy, well i am now on my normal page but will be switching to my review page to give George the review he has worked hard for clearly shows this chippy has been going for years , he’s still standing strong with great customers and yes I understand that sometimes things might not be the best every time you go but remember, the spuds are not allways the same due to the session we have , but I see he try’s very hard to keep customers happy , as for the price, it is what is , every thing has gone up , I will continue to sopport this chippy , that much I will continue to advertise you on my platforms"

"Well what a gem, as MOST of the chip shops in Heaton Moor and Chapel are running a limited service (hard to find one open mid-week lunch), George's is open all day, it's now my go-to chippy, even though I have to pass two others to get there... I may as well give my cash to someone who's putting in the effort. CASH ONLY... there's an ATM in the square opposite if your stuck."

"I loved this place in the 90s and was excited to see if it was the same when I visited recently and it is. I don't know if it's the same owners but the standards are very high and the food is delicious especially the fish which is done to perfection. Chips are never greasy or dry, always spot on. It's a shame all chip shops close so early now. I loved coming in here after the pub. Traditional chippy and the food is beyond reproach. Definitely worth going out of the way for. I definitely recommend."

"Much nicer chips than the dolphin. Cash only and not doing chips cheese and beans brings it down slightly, but happy to travel here from North Reddish to get good chips. Would be good if they did deliveroo or something too"
